This was a ladie's granddaughter. I did the portrait in colored pencil and the background in oil paint. Looking at the picture now my favorite part is the dress and the flower, I know I didn't like doing those then, they seemed meaningless to the picture at the time. Once I've captured the likeness, which is mainly in the face I have a hard time pushing past that point. The copy of this one shows a halo around the head and body, in the real picture that's not visible at all, I'm sure it has to do with the light from the copier.
